Research Areas: General focus on sustainable seafood processing to find a balance between environmental stewardship and economic vitality, in order to maximize seafood resource utilization while minimizing the overall environmental impact. Areas to consider are ways to reduce water usage and waterwater impact, as well as diversifying resource utilization through developing new products, upgrading current product value, and other strategies to build resiliency for the seafood industry.  Stakeholder networking and engagement are critical for determing current research priorities and developing impactful training and outreach strategies.
