The Pacific Fisheries Technologists conference convenes February 22-25, 2009 at the Downtown Hilton, Portland, OR USA. The PFT 2009 Planning Committee is working on an exciting program and invites participants from seafood industry, academia, and government agencies to this annual international meeting of presentations, discussions, and social interactions. The theme of the meeting is "To Your Health: Fisheries Technology 2009. Technical and scientific papers focusing on seafood products and technology in the following areas are appropriate:
There will be oral presentations and a poster session. Oral presentations will fit into 20-minute time slots; plan on a 15-minute presentation followed by 5 minutes for questions and comments. Binder clips will be used to hold the poster in place on a foam core easel board (40 wide x 32 high x 3/16 thick). Posters should be readable from a distance of 3 feet.
Submit a one-page text in English containing 200-250 words describing the introduction, objective, methods, results, discussion, and conclusion.
Type the title in bold letters.
Give the authors names and affiliations on a separate line; use an asterisk to identify the presenter.
Indicate whether the abstract is for an oral presentation or a poster.

There will be an expanded student paper award competition to recognize the top oral and poster presentations. We strongly encourage students to enter this competition and plan to confer more and larger awards this year than at anytime in the past. Please note your interest in joining this contest when you submit your abstracts.
